Mr. Epstein specializes in real estate and closely held business matters. He represents all of the parties to real estate transactions sellers, buyers, brokers, architects, lenders, borrowers and developers giving him the ability to see all sides of the transaction and represent his clients more effectively. His business expertise focuses on representing closely held businesses in general business counseling.He testifies as an expert witness in real estate / legal matters. Mr. Epstein spent most of his professional career doing both litigation and real estate and commercial transactions. He brings this litigation experience to transactional work so that he is better able to foresee possible problems and deal with them in his counseling and drafting of documents. Mr. Epsteins philosophy is that counseling, structuring transactions and dispute resolution are not sharply divided specialties but parts of a process of overall counseling to clients. Mr. Epstein graduated from Northwestern University in 1963 and from Stanford Law School in 1966, where he was an editor of the Stanford Law Review. After clerking for Justice Raymond Sullivan of the California Supreme Court, he practiced with Heller, Ehrman, White and McAuliffe in San Francisco for several years. He served as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers for 20 years and is a member of Real Estate Neutrals. He is currently General Counsel to the St. Francis Yacht Club and served as a director of Katherine Delmar Burke School for 6 years. |
